Life of Intimacy with Jesus in Prayer
God Our Father draws us to a life of intimacy with Him in Prayer. Christ becomes the centre and model of our life.
THE EUCHARIST
The Eucharist, the core of all liturgical worship is the source and summit of our religious life. The Mystery of Christ’s dying and rising is experienced in our own lives through a daily participation in the Eucharistic Sacrifice.
WORD OF GOD
Instructed by the Word of God, we offer ourselves to the joyful proclamation of God’s covenantal love.
THE CROSS
Responding to Christ’s call of love, “if any man would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me”. We practice self-denial and penance, which enables us to attain inner self- possession, and share in Christ’s own experience of dying and rising.
FRANCISCAN SPIRITUALITY
We, the Mission Sisters of Ajmer, one of the first indigenous Missionary Religious Congregation for women founded in Ajmer, Rajasthan India, follow the Rule of the ‘Third Order Regular of St. Francis of Assisi’.
St. Francis with love and reverence for the Holy Gospels, inspires us to follow the footsteps of Jesus. We, as Franciscans in the imitation of St. Francis, live a life of prayer, penance, repentance and forgiveness making Jesus’ values a reality. Franciscan Spirituality invites us to be one with nature and its creatures.
The Mission Sisters of Ajmer, like Father Francis have a great love and affection for creation and we strive to preserve nature in all its forms, with care for animals, birds, insects, plants, trees and Mother Earth.
We strive to live a simple way of life, to imitate Jesus Christ, the poor in His poverty and self - emptying in order to depend totally on God, for all our needs. Being available and to serve the poor is an important aspect of our poverty, hence we reach out to them through our Ministries, giving special attention to the weak, the poor, the sick, the destitute and the needy.
We live in a community and reach out specially to the non-believers to proclaim Christ to them and to help them experience Christ in their personal lives. Mary our Mother and model, inspires us to unite our prayers and sufferings with Christ’s own supreme sacrifice for the redemption of the world. Hence we make the Eucharist, the prayer and sacrifice of our daily life. “Religious life essentially being communitarian, each of us holds herself responsible for creating a fraternity in an atmosphere of love, appreciation and mutual understanding, where all enjoy a sense belonging and acceptance. Like St. Francis we cherish every sister as a gift from the Lord”.
