Formation which aims at the transformation of the
whole person is a never- ending commitment.
At every stage of life,
Consecrated persons must be offered opportunities to grow in their commitment to the Charism and Mission of their Institute
(Vita Consecrata, 65).
Stages of Formation
Candidacy
This is a time when we help our Candidate to be a full person and a deeply committed Christian. The candidate is introduced to the Charism of the Mission Sisters of Ajmer and the apostolates of the Institute. She lives in one of our communities, joins the community prayer and is enabled to discern her vocation in view of a total consecration to God in the service of the Church.
Pre-Novitiate
Responding to the attraction of Christ’s call and desirous of following Christ the Poor, the Chaste and Obedient, the young candidates seek admission into the Congregation. It is a period of mutual acquaintance which enables both the candidate and the Community to discern her Vocation to our way of life. Opportunity is given her to experience life in the Franciscan family.
Novitiate
Religious Life begins with the Novitiate. The novice is welcomed into a family of Sisters, where she enjoys a sense of belonging, fellowship and mutual trust. In this atmosphere of love and trust the novice is guided to a responsible contribution towards community life. During this time of initiation, the novice is helped to grow into a more loving familiarity of Christ.
Novitiate is a training period for a life of faith and intense prayer, an invitation into the Redemptive mission of the Institute, through the practice of Evangelical Counsels and the experience of community life.
Having discerned her vocation to our way of life, she readily consecrates herself to Jesus through the profession of vows and to the service of his kingdom, in and through the Church.

Juniorate
The Juniorate is the time when the sister begins an intense preparation for a total, deliberate and free response to the call of Christ at her final public profession, under the guidance of her Directress. The Junior professed sister implements in her day-to-day life, the spiritual values given to her during her initial formation. She strengthens her union with Christ in the midst of missionary activity.

An intensive study of Scripture, Theology, Liturgy, Church History and the Human Sciences marks this period of Juniorate, in order to enable the young sister to gain wider perspectives of religious life and the apostolate.

On-going Formation
Formation is a continuing process. Imbued with the missionary zeal, we use every opportunity to widen our knowledge, develop our talents and skills and keep in touch with current situations. We attend spiritual and other suitable courses for the development of the total person to become more relevant and effective in the mission of the Church. Each sister takes responsibility for her on-going formation.
