Vocation

Has God made your heart for religious life?

“It is The Holy Spirit who shapes and moulds the hearts of those who are called, configuring them to Christ, the chaste, poor and obedient One, and prompting them to make His mission their own.”

– Vita Consecrata 19.

My Journey to MSA

What Drew You?

Sr. Vanessa MSA

The Lord has drawn me towards Him with His everlasting loving gaze. Pondering over, I had a spontaneous insight – ‘why not a nun?’ Since then, the thought of becoming a nun lingered. Yes, I have experienced His loving gaze in my ups and downs. His faithfulness has carried me all along and kept me as an apple of His eyes.

Sr. Josain  MSA

"Make your life a Mission.  not an Intermission"  (Arnold Glasgow) When the Cross of Christ was the attraction, I wanted nothing else. "I will go anywhere, provided it be forward" was my determination. A Mission Sister is nothing else but a Missionary for Christ.

Sr. Jooly MSA

I was inspired by the life of St. Alphonsa. I prayed to her when I was discerning my vocation. I experienced a deep longing within me to love Jesus totally and to become His spouse like Saint Alphonsa. I decided to follow Jesus and there was no turning back. I am happy as a Mission Sister of Ajmer.

Sr. Priti MSA

My call to religious life is a blessing. I had a deep desire to seek Jesus in all my endeavors. I responded to His call by joining the Mission Sisters of Ajmer. I found Jesus as my beloved and now I share his love with all people.

Sr. Deepa MSA

You did not choose me but I chose you.” I had no inclination towards Religious life. Life was full of enjoyment and comfort but often seemed to be bleak and blank. While attending a retreat to seek peace and a purpose of life, something within stirred me to follow Jesus. I joined the MSA to discern my vocation and the Sisters helped me to find Jesus my Lord. I am happy to be a Mission Sister of Ajmer.

Sr. Sharon Lobo MSA

God has His ways and His time is always perfect. I came across St. Ignatius of Loyola’s words to St. Francis Xavier, “What if a man gains the whole world but loses his soul.” Confused with this sign from God, I prayed, “What would you want me to do? Do I really have a vocation to serve as a religious?” I started to spend more time in silence and solitude; my request to join the ‘Come and See’ Programme was welcomed. When I look back today, I see God’s plan unfolding in its perfect time.

Sr. Ancy MSA

I became a nun because I found that Jesus is the one for whom I wanted to spend my life totally. He attracted me in a very personal way; my job and degrees did not matter any more. Life was best found in losing myself to Him and His ways.
I came to know the MSA, through my Parish Priest and guide Fr. Kilian Lopes and Sr. Serena. The Sisters seemed so different from others in their love, joy and simplicity, in the midst of a desert’s working conditions.

Sr. Paulina MSA

I am a Nurse by Profession. The seed of my vocation was planted by my loving and caring parents. From a young age, there was an inner desire to be a nun.
Everything else seemed meaningless. Sr. Gloria SSPS was a source of inspiration to me. She helped me to discern my vocation. With the help of my parents and the Mission Sisters of Ajmer who visited me, I was inspired to joined them. Today I am happy Mission Sister.

Open wide the doors to your heart.

You are not alone in this journey of discernment. Discernment is a process of discovering the Lord’s calling for YOU in the innermost part of your heart. This process usually entails prayer and reflection, trusting in the Lord, and making a choice to move in a certain direction with bold faith. The key is an open and trusting heart, to perceive where the Lord is calling you. Three things are necessary to hear His call: inner quiet, inner freedom, and inner strength.

The Sisters are here to accompany you on this journey, especially through prayer.

Below are some Resources to help you on this journey.
